Worth the Trip

I was worried about taking my trip to Norfolk today and having to leave Dixie 8 hours without milking her with her mastitis issue, but it turned out fine and was worth the trip.  Dixie doesn't seem to be affected by missing one milking - the bump didn't swell and she didn't have chunky milk so I think we're safe!  Plus I got to pick up my fluffy baby chicks, see the inside of a hatchery, meet my new niece Emry, see my grandparents, get my birthday present, and hang out with Montana in the car all day!
I milked Dixie at 9:00 and we took off.  We stopped and picked up fried chicken when we got to Norfolk and then at with my sister, nieces & nephew, and grandparents.  We stayed for just a little bit and then headed to the hatchery to pick up the chicks.  Montana and I had a moment to shop at Walmart and then back in the van.  We stopped at McDonalds to get some cinnamon melts, supper for later, and an iced coffee (we don't get mcdonalds hardly ever!), met Kevin to give him his forgotten GPS, and made it home in time for evening chores.  It was a trip that was well worth it!
